Being an every day Over thinker questioning everything and if they are even doing what they need to do when I first saw this, I thought there’s no way this is going to help me. Then I read the first chapter. Everything changed as I got more into it by the end, I felt like a whole new person. If there’s anything I can say about this book, I highly recommend to anyone. I was so invested in it i finished it within a week. ADD THIS TO YOUR LIST!!! 6 out of 5 stars!! Thank you so much, Joseph!

Oh, "Don’t Believe Everything You Think," where do I even begin? This book is like a warm cup of tea...that you accidentally dumped salt into instead of sugar. It’s sweet in its intentions, but the execution leaves you scratching your head in a mix of bewilderment and amusement. First off, if you love Zen sayings, you'll be thrilled! The author regurgitates them like a broken fortune cookie factory. "Be like water," "The journey is the destination," "If a tree falls in the forest..." You get the idea. It's like they bought a bulk pack of Zen calendars and decided to transcribe every single page. Now, let’s talk about the central message: don't think, just accept. Sounds great, right? Until you realize it means accepting everything without judgment. Everything. Your neighbor's garage band practicing at 2 AM? Accept it. Someone cutting you off in traffic? Just smile and wave! Your cat knocks over your priceless heirloom vase? Hey, it’s all part of the universe’s grand plan. The book suggests that the secret to happiness is to not think at all. At one point, I wondered if the author was aiming to make us all Zen zombies, blissfully stumbling through life in a haze of non-judgmental acceptance. I have to give credit where it's due: the author's commitment to the bit is impressive. He preaches total mental vacancy with the zeal of a monk who’s been meditating in a cave for fifty years. But as much as I tried to embrace the wisdom of just not thinking, I kept wondering: isn’t there a middle ground between overthinking and not thinking at all? The book is a delightful and mercifully short romp through the world of non-engagement. If you’re looking for a good laugh and some head-scratching moments, this book is for you. Just don’t think too hard about it. Or maybe, don’t think at all.

Really enjoyed this book. I do feel our thinking is the cause of most of our psychological suffering. If we just reframed or re-interpreted the way we look at things then we would be in so much more happiness and joy in our lives. It’s like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but happiness is in the eye of the beholder. Thank you for these kind words in this book.
