Description

A USA TODAY BESTSELLER!

Three women search for joy in #1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery’s new novel of hope, heartache, and the power of friendship.

Heather is happy . . . ish. She has a successful business, a cute but contemptuous cat, and best friends Daphne and Tori who know where she’s broken and love her anyway. So why does she feel crushed when her ex gets serious about someone new? No problem, she has a plan. More connections will hold her together while her world falls apart, so she finally reaches out to the stranger who might be her dad.

Daphne isn’t having an emotional affair, despite what her husband believes.  He started the rift in their marriage when he said they weren’t ready for a baby. They used to be the closest couple she knew. Can they find their way back to one another before it’s too late?

When Tori forms an inconvenient crush on Daphne’s brother-in-law, she suppresses her feelings. Until her apartment floods, and she moves in with the dog-loving doctor. If things go wrong, she could lose her friends. . . but if they go right, she could lose her heart.

Don't miss #1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery's joyful and utterly irresistible holiday tale, One Big Happy Family, about a mother who couldn't love her kids more hopes that, just this once, they don't come for Christmas.

A great summer read! A group of friends looking for happiness through love and friendship. Don’t forget that cats and dogs also make an appearance. A good book from start to finish!

The Happiness Plan is another emotional story that Susan Mallery tells so well. Friends and family working through their issues to work towards a happy ending.

The Happiness Plan is now my favorite Susan Mallery book! Heather, Tori, and Daphne are best friends and while they each have their own storylines, they intertwine, which made this an easy read. Despite her upbringing, Heather has become a successful businesswoman but outside of her girlfriends she has difficulty with emotional attachments with other people. Tori is a talented graphic designer who has terrible taste in men. Daphne is a successful lawyer who loves her husband and stepchildren but is so upset when she feels Brody is breaking a promise to have a baby with her. I loved the twists and turns of each story. I actually cried, definitely laughed, and I was sorry when it ended. I’m hoping everyone at least makes a cameo in future books so I know how things play out in their futures.

The Happiness Plan was a fantastic book you will not want to put down! The book follows 3 besties. All with very relatable story lines. I laughed and cried through out the book. You need to add this to your summer reading list!

I always start off saying Susan Mallery has been one of my favorite authors since college! She always makes her main characters so lifelike and relatable. This time I swear Heather was me! She is independent, suppers herself, has trouble letting people in, and loves and cares for cats/kittens! Once she locates the father she never knew she is able to start seeing she needs some reflection and personal growth to allow people into her life and heart. Her mom has always only used her for money and Heather believes everyone will do that. But finding the dad she never knew and becoming a part of his family she sees not everyone is like her mom! Daphne has to admit that some of her marriage problems are because of her actions and not only her husband’s actions so that they can try to come back together. And Tori seems to have it all, a best friend loving beside her, a scheduled life that works for her until she’s standing in her condo and the sprinkler system accidentally goes off ruining everything in the building. Causing her very scheduled life to upend and her to have to live with her best friend (who just happens to be an attractive doctor). This book is not only about romance but also friendship, reflection, and growth. I didn’t want it to end! Great pool or beach ride!

We finally get Heathers story! If you remember Amber and Heather from Sisters by choice you know we needed more of Heather’s story. She was a tough nut to like but watching her bloom was encouraging. Daphne just about broke my heart……her storyline was probably the hardest for me to read. Tori was such a ray of sunshine and I’m soooo glad she was patient. Definitely a tissue worthy read with some tough love and tough times. A fabulous beach read!

Susan Mallery’s Happiness Plan is another gem from one of my favorites. Centering around three friends each with their own issues to work through. Ms Mallery is a master at character growth. You can always count on a happy ever after with her stories. My one critique would be to have the different characters relationships come to their conclusion in a staggered manner through out the story. When they are all wrapped up in the last 60 pages the ending feels rushed to me. It could be that I’m just not ready for the story to end because I’m always wanting more. This would be a great beach read!!

The Happiness Plan was an amazing story about what makes a true friendship. I loved how these 3 ladies were there for each other to lean on, vent to, and give a little kick in the rear when needed. Few writers pull you into a story like Susan Mallery - she makes you feel like you are a part of the story from the first page. I received this ARC free from the author. The review is voluntary. The opinions my own.
