Hardened mercenary Colton Duchaine has wanted Angie since he first laid eyes on her, but he knows he’s the wrong kind of man for an innocent woman like her. His life is too dangerous, too unpredictable. He can never settle down.

But when someone wants Angie silenced, Colt will do whatever it takes to keep her alive. And when she’s safe, he’ll get out of her life for good.

Turns out that walking away is easier said than done. Angie is his—and Colt will stop at nothing to claim her for his own.

Black out is Lynn Raye Harris’s latest covert ops adventure that kept me wondering what would happen next after Angie’s co-worker suddenly disappears and she realizes that what she knows could get her killed. While Colt and his fellow operatives try to figure out what’s going on Colt and Angie’s personal relationship slowly grows from awkward to friends and then to confidants. Just a hint...they have sizzling chemistry! I especially enjoyed Angie’s transformation from having been a helpless victim to her dedication to keeping her wits about her and trying to get herself out of the dangerous situation she finds herself in. Lynn’s books feature the perfect combination of sexy kick-butt Alpha male, a sweet, sexy and intelligent heroine and a guaranteed fast paced read that has made me a fan for life. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

I am truly enjoying getting to know the members of Black's Bandits. In the HOT books, they were portrayed as mercenaries, but in their books, you see that they only want to protect the ones they love, including their country. They may not be current military, but they hold themselves to the same standard of protection. Colt and Angie have had something brewing since the very beginning of the Black's Bandits books. Now we get to see if they can make it work or if too much fear and guilt will destroy them. My money is on Colt to convince her they can work. There are some interesting twists in this story. Colt's history is revealed and I never expected to learn who he was. And that tiny little tidbit with Ian in London is just a tease of things to come.

I absolutely love love love Colt and Angie. I love that Colt was willing to go at the pace that Angie was, considering her history with men. There was that point that he decided that if it wasn't going to happen that it was time to move on, and I'm glad that Angie finally got past her guilt of what had happened during the events of Black List. Of course it wasn't until Colt had put it into terms that she would understand that she started trying. It really kicked her into gear and she found her strength again. And that secret that Colt has? Totally jaw dropping; add in that he can cook, clean, knows wine, etc etc.. I loved the epilogue and was laughing quite a bit.
