Description

Sarah J. Maas's sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms.

I wasn’t sure I’d be interested in reading Nesta’s story. I had my own personal feelings towards her as the oldest sister in my family…she didn’t act like an older sister should. But understanding her better after reading her story (and her part in the 3rd Cresent City series) helped me grow to like her. She’s definitely not my favorite character in the series. Despite my feelings, I did really enjoy the book.

Another great one. This ranks up with 2 and 3. The last quarter is a huge roller coaster — tears, laughter, gasps and gratitude. Good gracious, I think I’m a fan.

First series/books I have read of this nature. Typically I enjoy Stephen king or more of a Michael Crichton style. Fell in absolute love with the characters and story of these novels! I read the series again immediately after I finished, I could not let go of them.

I’ll be honest that at first I was struggling to read because I was upset with Nesta and her entitlement. I thought I could never learn to love this character but I was wrong. She is not Feyre nor Elain and never will be but the character development in this book and everything that occurred was really a nice and beautiful close. I know the story will continue but this healed a lot of parts that I thought were doomed. Very solid story and would definitely recommend. My second favorite of the series next to ACOMAF!

When I tell you I balled my eyes out when I finished this series because I could not believe it was over and I never wanted it to end… I absolutely broke inside over coming to terms with the end of this collection of masterpieces. I am so happy that a book like this was the end to this series because, no hate to the other books ever, but I did always find myself wanting growth in other potential relationships throughout and was worried they were never going to develop. Nesta and Cassian’s tension was one I figured would never actually become anything even though I so badly wanted it to and I could not be any more in love with the way it played out. This book gave me so much closure and I am so proud to see Nesta get such a great redemption with lots of hard work and growth. I already know very well that I will be rereading this series so many times in the future. It takes a very special series to make me feel these emotions and this is nothing less than extraordinary.

I have never wanted to scream at a book so much in my life! I fell into this story line for more reasons than I can even explain. Nestas character resonates deeply for me and the whole series was written beautifully! I hope there will be another book because I have so many questions! And there are so many different directions the story could go from here. I wish this were a show because it would absolutely be my new favorite to watch on repeat.
