Hedda Gabler
Henrik Ibsen · 1891
A general's daughter trapped in a bourgeois marriage destroys everyone around her out of boredom and spite. Ibsen wrote the great portrait of a woman with too much intelligence and no outlet for it. Hedda is one of the most demanding roles in theater because she's sympathetic and monstrous at the same time.
